Using YouTube as a resource.

9. YouTube

As if this needed further explanation. Youtube is a great free resource offering countless visual content on a wide range of topics. A word of advice is to preview any video before showcasing it to your class or kids. This can help you determine if it contains the information you wish to share, if it is appropriately presented, and is engaging.

10. Make your own!

This can be a free or low-cost alternative if the websites mentioned above don't have what you need. Although this may seem daunting, this can become a fun class or family activity! There are endless materials you can use to create visual aids, and most of them you may already have on hand in the classroom or at home! Glue, scissors, colored paper, markers, pompoms, googly eyes, stickers, glitter, yarn, paint, etc. the list goes on and on! In a future blog post, we will explore how to create your own fun visual aids more in-depth.

Take Away

Finding free or low-cost visual aids can be a stress-free task. The websites mentioned above prove that there are many resources already created and ready for you to use in your classroom or home. If these ones don't work for your particular needs, then you can always search the web for something more specific. Or as mentioned above, you can make your own! If you find resources that aren't mentioned here, let me know, as I am always on the lookout for cute, fun, and educational visual aids.
